Assistant Tax Accountant – Epping & South Morang Offices

About the Role:

We are a growing and client-focused accounting firm with offices in Epping and South Morang. We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Tax Accountant to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to build their career in tax and accounting while working in a supportive yet independent environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparing and lodging individual and company tax returns

Preparing BAS/IAS and lodging GST statements

Assisting with financial statement preparation

Liaising directly with clients and the ATO regarding tax matters

Managing company setups and closures

Maintaining accurate and timely records

Communicating effectively with team members and clients

Assisting senior accountants with workflow as required

Requirements:

1–2 years experience in public practice or tax firm (mandatory)

Experience with Xero, MYOB, or similar accounting software

Good understanding of Australian tax laws and compliance

Strong communication and client-handling skills

Ability to work independently and manage tasks responsibly

Positive attitude and willingness to learn
