About the role

Geoff & Kash Tax Accounting is seeking a part-time Tax Preparer/Assistant Accountant to join our dynamic team in Moolap, VIC. As a key member of our Taxation division, you will play a crucial role in assisting clients with tax preparation and accounting services. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a thriving accounting practice while contributing to the success of our clients. The role is flexible with 3-4 days a week.

What you'll be doing

Preparing accurate and timely tax returns for individual and small business clients

Providing support in the areas of bookkeeping, payroll, and other accounting functions

Conducting research and analysis to ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations

Collaborating with the accounting team to identify opportunities for improving processes and client service

Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and best practices

The role will be office based

What we're looking for

Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or a related field

Experience in tax preparation or a similar accounting role preferred

Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients

Proficient in the use of accounting software, such as MYOB or Xero

Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a solutions-oriented mindset
