Food Technologist

Real Foods Pty Ltd is a retail manufacturer specialising in fast moving goods for the Australian and International markets, best known for inventing, producing and selling CORN THINS® corn cakes. Real Foods Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified and experienced Food Technologist to work new products/line extensions, process improvement (including improving quality, wastage, cost reduction & output) , as well as support the Quality Manager from time to time with quality work and technical issues (food related).

The Role

Responsible for conducting tasks in support of new product development (bench prototype, scale up & commissioning), existing product maintenance and process improvement. Assist with ensuring packaging is compliant with food standards in Australian and overseas markets. The Food Technologist will work closely with Marketing from a new products perspective and Supply Chain (Production/Engineering & Quality) to complete tasks to improve quality, reduce wastage & improve output (new product and existing core business). Other tasks to include QC/QA activities, such as raw material sampling and inspection, assistance with QMS documentation and auditing of GMP, HACCP and Quality programs (as required).

Required Skills & Attributes

Minimum 2 years of experience in product development

Minimum 2 years of experience in quality and process improvement work

Minimum 2 years of experience with grain science, particularly popping of grains

Appropriate food science degree

Process driven with attention to detail

Self-motivated

Good communication skills.

Good with working with others & in isolation

Some knowledge of Food Standards
