We are currently seeking to recruit a passionate and self-motivated Environmental Health Assistant to join our busy Community Planning and Place team at The Town of Mosman Park to support the delivery of the Town's Environmental Health services.

As an Environmental Health Assistant, you will be responsible for the following:

Carrying out water sampling of aquatic facilities and seasonal recreational waters within the Town.

Assisting environmental health officers in the investigation of complaints and customer service requests as directed.

You will assist with routine inspections, audits and food sampling.

Assessment of referred development, building applications and new applications for food businesses, public trading, public buildings, skin penetration premises.

Skills & Experience

We are looking for an enthusiastic learner with the following qualifications/experience:

Studying for Bachelor of Science (Environmental Health) or similar qualification. Undergraduates must have successfully completed at least their first year of studies.

A growing knowledge of related legislation including Local Government Act, Food Act, Environmental Protection Act, Public Health Act and local laws

Working knowledge of software applications, i.e. Microsoft 365

Willingness to learn and maintaining a ‘can do attitude’.

Confidence in dealing with customers and the community.
