About the role:

Maintenance Manager is accountable and responsible for the management of maintenance staff and all maintenance activities performed across the site to maximise reliability of equipment, productivity, quality, quantity and timeliness.
Implement and contribute to strategic decision making processes including automation projects to continuously improve the efficiency of on site operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities in this role include but are not limited to:

• Ensuring preventative and reactive maintenance activities for plant, equipment and machinery ensuring all work is performed efficiently, safely and is of a high quality standard
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance system with MEX CMMS
• Parts ordering for the site

• Monitor and comply with the Company’s standards and policies on Good Manufacturing Practice, Hygiene and Sanitation, Repairs and Maintenance, Integrated Pest Management and any other programs related to quality, OHS and food safety, Bio-security Policy
• Ensure relevant records are maintained and controlled and that all documentation is produced in its required format and in a timely manner
• Ensure all sites have working Quality Systems in place to meet AECL, Customer requirements
• Oversee maintenance planning and ensure all equipment adheres to company standards
• Report non-compliance and/or safety issues regarding machine and equipment immediately
• Ensure high levels of machine and equipment reliability
• Provide back up (On Call) as required
• Participate in the Company’s business strategy and implement Company guidelines, goals and drive continuous improvement activities through change management processes and best practice
• Maintain cost control and develop effective preventative and reactive maintenance strategies
• Manage staff including training, supervision, communication as required and review performance and provide mentoring and development guidance to assist staff to achieve company objectives
• Manage staff performance and behaviour including compliance with the Company’s performance management, counselling and discrimination, harassment and bullying procedures and liaising with HR as necessary
• Travel to other Sites may be required

About you:

To excel in this role, you should have:

• A mechanical related trade or engineering qualification (highly desirable)
• People management, communication, and training skills
• Ability to handle a range of tasks with changing priorities and effective time management
• Financial, project and business management skills
• Mechanical understanding (and the importance of preventative maintenance programs)
• Food Safety, GMP, QA, & OHS knowledge/understanding
• An understanding of the importance of meeting customer orders (on time)
• Record keeping and documentation
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Effective time management
• Food safety knowledge / understanding
• Record keeping and documentation
