About This Opportunity
The Outreach and Communications Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the delivery of the University of Queensland's Cyber Security Culture Change Program. Working within a collaborative and purpose-driven team, this position focuses on engaging the UQ community to build cyber safety awareness and resilience. Through coordination of training and outreach activities, the Coordinator helps foster a culture of secure practices by delivering engaging and informative content, events, and education initiatives. The role offers the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of human cyber risk and make a meaningful contribution to UQ's cyber safety goals.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating and supporting cyber security education and awareness initiatives, including gamified training, workshops, and webinars.
- Organising logistics for training sessions such as scheduling, liaising with trainers, managing communications, and collecting feedback.
- Contributing to the development and delivery of outreach content including promotional materials, online resources, and internal campaigns.
- Assisting with engagement reporting, phishing simulation scheduling, and general program administration.

About You
- Completion of a bachelor's degree with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related training.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality outcomes.
- Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear, engaging, and accessible manner.
- Strong verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to diverse audiences or a willingness to develop this capability.
- High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with demonstrated experience using Adobe Creative Suite tools such as InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines independently.
- Interest in cyber security and a desire to contribute to cyber safety awareness initiatives.
- Experience working in a higher education environment and/or familiarity with content management systems such as Drupal, including video creation and editing skills.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check, etc.
