Are you a talented Allied Health Assistant dedicated to providing administrative and clinical assistance services?

Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) is looking for an enthusiastic Allied Health Assistant to provide dedicated assistance within the Ambulatory Rehabilitation Service. This is a unique opportunity to work collaboratively while providing clinical and administrative support services. This role will be based out of the brand new Wagga Wagga Base Hospital.

About the role

The Wagga Wagga Rehabilitation Allied Health Assistant is a member of a multi-disciplinary team providing inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation to the local community, as well as opportunities to deliver inpatient and outpatient programs as part of the Outreach Rehabilitation Service (Narrandera, Tumut and Temora).
The Allied Health Assistant will provide programs under the supervision of a Rehabilitation Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist that provide goal-based, person-centred rehabilitation.
This Allied Health Assistant will be providing clinic-based, home-based and virtual service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Correspondence and document management - including the organisation of various deadlines and communications within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Perform and assist with activities under the supervision and direction of treating Allied Health Professionals
  • Maintaining a safe and supportive environment for patients and the multidisciplinary team

About You

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Hold a Cert IV in Allied Health Assistance or relevant qualification
  • Expert level written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of professionalism with ability to work independently and as part of a large team
  • The ability to work autonomously and escalate concerns early
  • The confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills with demonstrate ability to take initiative
