We are looking for a medical receptionist (casual position) to work 9-14 hrs/wk during weekdays only.
Tasks and responsibilities
Greet patients as they arrive and anticipate their needs
Answer the telephone in courteous and polite manner
Respond to patient enquiries
Receive and convey messages
Schedule appointments
Notify patients of upcoming appointments
Organise files for upcoming consultation sessions
Monitor stationary and clinical supplies
Order braces/other supplies for patients
Process invoices and payments
Follow up overdue accounts
End of day reporting and reconciliation of payments
Email, scan, file and mail documents
Maintain patient records and archive files
Retrieve reports
Communication with insurance companies, pharmacies and other medical facilities
Transcribe dictation
Maintain cleanliness of the practice
Maintenance of Covid protocols
Qualifications and experience
Essential Criteria
Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette
Excellent customer service
Excellent organisational skills and time management
High levels of accuracy / attention to detail
Able to multitask and prioritise
Typing skills
Must be able to cover sick leave and holidays
Strong computer literacy
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Maintain information and patient confidentiality
Ability to work independently, show initiative and work within the team
Desirable Criteria
Understand medical terminology
Previous experience with medical practice software
Previous experience in a medical reception or similar administrative position
