Job Description:
As the Boarding Kennel Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our facility. You will manage staff, ensure the well-being and safety of all animals in our care, and maintain a high standard of cleanliness and customer service. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be directly involved with the animals, managing the team, and ensuring the smooth running of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
· Oversee the day-to-day operations of the kennel, including managing bookings, check-ins/outs, and client communications.
· Supervise and train animal attendants to ensure they provide excellent care and customer service.
· Ensure all animals are safe, healthy, and well-cared-for at all times.
· Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the facility, including kennels, play areas, and common spaces.
· Implement safety protocols and emergency procedures as needed.
· Create and maintain detailed records of each pet's stay, medical needs, and special requests.
· Assist in developing marketing strategies to increase bookings and visibility.
· Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional manner.
· Administer medications and special diets as required for pets in your care.
· Perform regular inventory checks of supplies and equipment.
· Coordinate with veterinarians for health checks and emergencies.
Requirements:
· Previous experience in a management role in a pet care facility or similar environment.
· Knowledge of animal behaviour, health, and safety.
· Strong leadership and communication skills.
· Ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy environment.
· Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable manner.
· Able to work a fortnightly rotating roster, including weekends and holidays as needed.
· Comfortable working with both dogs and cats of various breeds and temperaments.
· Valid driver's license.
· Shuttle service to Sydney, Southern Highlands and Goulburn.
· Ability to live on-site and be available for emergency situations.
