About the role

Acacia Lodge Boarding Kennels and Cattery is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team in Londonderry, NSW on a casual basis.

At our boutique facility, you will play a hands-on role in supporting the health, comfort, and wellbeing of our four-legged guests🐾. We take pride in doing things properly with structure, care, and attention to detail and we’re looking for someone who shares that mindset.

This is a long-term casual role with set days each week, starting at a minimum of two. It’s a great way to become part of the team, with the potential to take on more shifts and grow into a more permanent position for the right person.

Additional work is often available during weekends, school holidays, and peak periods, and future growth for the right candidate.

🐶 What you'll be doing

Providing exceptional daily care and attention to dogs and cats in our boarding facility, including feeding, exercising, cleaning kennels and administering medications as needed

Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kennels and grounds

Monitoring the animals' health and behaviour, and reporting any concerns to the Kennel Manager

Assisting with reception duties, such as greeting clients and answering enquiries

Contributing to a positive, animal-friendly environment for our guests and their owners ♥️

What we're looking for

Previous experience working in an animal care or customer service environment, preferably in a boarding kennel or veterinary setting

A genuine passion for animal welfare and a strong desire to provide the highest level of care

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well alone and as part of a team

Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and public holidays

A current driver's licence and reliable transportation

Pay starts at $25 per hour, with the potential to earn more if you bring additional skills or qualifications. Higher rates may apply if you:

• Have your own car and can assist with our Pet Taxi service

• Have professional grooming experience (kennel, mobile, or salon-based)

• Hold recognised qualifications or hands-on experience in dog training or animal behaviour
