About the Role:

Our State Government client is seeking an experienced Senior Privacy Officer to join the team, on a temporary basis. Based in Brisbane’s CBD and commencing late July, the role will be for an initial 12-month engagement with possible extension. Working 38 hours per week, the role will be paying a casual hourly rate of $99.67 plus super.

You will be partnering with ICT and business units to assess and manage privacy risks, conduct complex investigations and deliver high-quality advice aligned with legislative compliance obligations. This role plays a key part in promoting a strong privacy culture and ensuring safe and lawful handling of personal information.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 3 years' experience conducting complex PIAs and managing privacy complaints / breaches;
• Demonstrated ability to provide strategic privacy advice to senior executives and project teams;
• Deep knowledge (or ability to rapidly acquire) of the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld) and Privacy Act 1988 (Cth);
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities in a compliance environment;
• Exceptional written communication skills, including the preparation of reports, briefings and risk assessments; and
• Experience working in or with public sector or government agencies highly regarded.
