We’re a family-run business, deeply rooted in values that span generations. As we expand, we’re looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to join our Production team in Nericon NSW. The Quality Manager is responsible for all aspects of for the design, development, implementation, management and the continuous improvement of the food safety, compliance, and quality systems across the group.

Key operational accountabilities include:

• Lead the development, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of product quality and shelf-life systems and processes across the group.
• Lead the development, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of food safety and compliance systems and processes across the group.
• Lead strategic and tactical communication with major retailers regarding food safety, compliance, product specifications and product development.
• Lead strategic communication with food safety and market access regulators and authorities
• Lead technical research and input into production system, facility, and process line design to ensure food safety, compliance and quality requirements are met
• Oversee preparation for and facilitation of third-party food safety, compliance and market access audits and compliance programs
• Oversee prompt rectification of any corrective actions flowing from food safety or market access audits.
• Work with Human Resources staff to recruit, induct, train, develop and performance manage all technical, quality assurance and control personnel throughout the group.
• Develop and facilitate the delivery of and the continuous improvement of product quality and shelf-life systems and processes training for all permanent and seasonal personnel
• Develop and facilitate the delivery of and the continuous improvement of food safety and compliance training for all permanent and seasonal personnel
• Coach, mentor and develop technical and quality assurance staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a management capacity in a food processing environment
• Extensive experience in the development, documentation, implementation & continuous improvement of fresh food quality assurance systems and processes.
• Extensive experience in the development, documentation, implementation & continuous improvement of produce quality and shelf life systems and processes.
• Tertiary qualifications in food science or related discipline will be highly regarded.
• Highly developed internal & external stakeholder relationship development and management skills
• Experienced in forming, developing & managing high performing team(s)
• Team player
• Flexibility in hours worked to achieve operational targets, including weekends and public holidays.
• Attention to detail with a sense of urgency and a “can do” attitude.
