Waverley Council is seeking a visionary and results – driven Executive Manager – Major Projects to lead the delivery of high – impact design and construction projects across one of Sydney’s most iconic and vibrant local government areas, home to Bondi Beach and a diverse, engaged community.

The Role
In this key role, you will be responsible for strategic development, management and delivery of Council’s major infrastructure and public domain projects.
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex capital works and infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate across Council teams and with key stakeholders including the local community, government agencies , and industry experts
- Ensure project outcomes align with Council’s strategic objectives and community needs
- Provide high-level advice, reporting, and risk management to ensure successful project delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement in project management practices and ensure compliance with relevant policies, regulations and frameworks
What you’ll bring
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Landscape Architecture or similar, with significant senior management experience leading the effective delivery of complex design and construction projects on time, within budget and within community expectations.
- Exceptional project management skills, including in the areas of planning, tendering and procurement and contract management.
- Strong experience in building relationships with community and government stakeholders with experience in leading consultation processes.
- Strong financial management experience
- Class C Drivers License
- Understanding of governance and compliance requirement within the local government sector (desirable)
