We're Hiring - Architect with Strong Documentation Skills

We’re looking for a mid-career architect who enjoys doing things properly.

At DS Architects, we work on complex institutional, educational, and industrial projects — often in live environments — and we need someone who can carry a project through documentation and coordination with care, clarity and consistency.

We’re after someone with solid experience who’s confident managing documentation, coordinating consultants, and resolving issues efficiently without needing close supervision.

We’re looking for someone with experience in traditional procurement, particularly lump sum projects, where the architect is actively involved in coordination, consultant management, and client-side responsibilities from early stages through to construction.

The role includes:

Leading documentation during design development and contract documentation stages

Coordinating consultant input and managing technical issues

Supporting projects during the construction stage, including responding to site queries and clarifying documentation

Navigating compliance, services integration and authority processes

Communicating directly with clients, project managers and contractors

Using Revit confidently in a real-world project environment

We’re looking for someone who:

Communicates clearly and accurately — in meetings, emails, and drawings

Responds promptly and works efficiently

Listens, takes advice, and contributes to a collaborative team environment

Builds strong working relationships based on mutual respect

You’ll be joining an experienced team based in Hawthorn East. We don’t enter awards. And we’re not chasing visual impact for its own sake — we focus on thoughtful, well-resolved architecture that holds up under real-world conditions.
