About The Role
As a National Risk Analyst at MTC, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive national risk assessments to ensure the safety, security, and operational effectiveness across all MTC sites.
This is a national role that offers a salary and level of responsibility commensurate with experience at the EL1-EL2 level.
This role focuses on assessing people, property, and operational risks within the context of immigration detention and corrections. You will work closely with senior risk management teams and key stakeholders to inform high-level decision-making, drive national risk mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with both internal and Department of Home Affairs standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support national risk assessments for MTC’s facilities and operations.
Develop and update national operational risk profiles, identifying key risk factors across sites.
Collaborate with department leaders and external stakeholders to inform strategic risk management decisions.
Ensure risk assessments are comprehensive, data-driven, and aligned with legislative, regulatory, and company standards.
Prepare risk reports and documentation for senior management and Department of Home Affairs review.
Ensure risk ratings and mitigation plans are clearly defined, understood, and implemented across sites.
Promote and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in national risk management processes.
To be successful you’ll bring:
Extensive experience in risk assessment, security, or compliance, ideally within immigration detention, corrections, or other large-scale operational environments.
Strong understanding of national risk management principles and frameworks.
Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other risk management software.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting findings to senior stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality.
Formal qualifications in risk management, security, or a related field (desirable).
Other Requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain relevant police/security clearances
Willingness to undergo drug and alcohol testing, and any required health assessments
Must be double vaccinated against COVID-19
