Our client is seeking a Minor Capital Ops Manager to help drive minor capital upgrades at water and wastewater facilities, applying technical and project management expertise to improve Coliban Water’s asset performance.

As the Minor Capital Ops Manager, you will work closely with our client’s operational teams and client representatives, focusing on enhancing the quality, safety and customer experience within the framework of the operations and maintenance service contract.

Along with strong organisational and communication skills, a proactive mindset, and project management experience, your key responsibilities include:

Scoping Jobs: Lead the scoping process or collaborate with others to define project scope.

Administrative Support: Oversee all administrative aspects such as creating work orders, arranging quotes, handling client communication, and maintaining smooth workflow.

Reporting & Updates: Regularly update job progress reports and maintain systems.

Contractor Engagement: Schedule and engage contractors, ensuring projects are executed on the ground.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong relationships within Coliban Water to secure approval for ServiceStream to deliver minor capital projects.

Team Leadership & Mentorship: Provide direction, support, and mentorship to colleagues to meet business objectives, ensuring successful project delivery.

Exemplary Conduct: Maintain high standards of conduct and align with ServiceStream’s core values of Safety, Delivery, People, and Accountability.

Adherence to Policies: Ensure compliance with ServiceStream’s Code of Conduct, policies, and procedures.

Continuous Improvement: Work with the Coliban Water Asset Performance Manager and Delivery Managers to identify and implement improvement initiatives, including OHS, treatment processes, asset reliability, and cost-saving measures.

Business Case Development: Create compelling business cases to secure approval and funding for projects.

Experience Required:

5+ Years of Project Management Experience: Proven experience in managing projects, with a focus on job costing methodologies.?

Collaborative Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to work effectively within operational teams.

Problem Solving & Analysis: Skilled in identifying issues, analyzing data, and preparing detailed business needs statements.

Risk Management: Experience in developing risk profiles and implementing risk management strategies.

Asset Management Knowledge: Solid understanding of preventative maintenance programs and asset performance criteria.

Skills and Qualifications:

Qualifications (Highly Regarded):

Post-graduate qualifications in the Water Industry (e.g., diplomas/certificates)?

Diploma or equivalent in OH&S practices and management.

Current Driver’s License.

Core Competencies:

Technical Leadership: Provide strong technical direction and leadership in project management.

Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of relevant regulatory and legislative requirements.

Microsoft Office & Project: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and MS Project.

Quality Systems: Experience working with accredited quality systems.
