The role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Project Officer for Housing to support the coordination, design, and delivery of strategic and operational projects across our housing portfolio. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful initiatives ranging from systems optimisation and policy development to service model innovation and compliance enhancement.
What you’ll be doing:
• Collaborating with the Project Lead to deliver high-impact projects that improve service delivery and tenant experience
• Supporting the development of policies, operational processes, and service models
• Coordinating project activities, timelines, and documentation with precision
• Engaging with stakeholders to ensure collaborative and practical outcomes
We are looking for someone eager to grow their capability across the broader housing improvement landscape – not just digital systems, but also policy, practice, and performance.
This is a permanent, full-time position (38 hours per week) based in South Brisbane..
About You
• Experience in a project support, service design or business administration role.
• Experience in a housing, social services, or not-for-profit environment is highly regarded.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel, Teams and Word.
• Ability to engage collaboratively and respectfully with diverse stakeholders.
• Exposure to CRM platforms, workflow mapping or business process documentation.
• Understanding of community housing operations, tenancy processes or regulatory frameworks.
• Qualifications or training in project management, social services, public administration or housing management.
• Certification or training in relevant software or process improvement tools.
• Understanding of and commitment to the philosophy of the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland and an ability to work in accordance with policies and procedures to promote the values and mission of the Society.
