About the opportunity:
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Team Leader, Exploration Regulation. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the management and delivery of assessment regulatory services to ensure that assessments are timely, based on sound risk and science-based assessment principles and delivered in accordance with legislative requirements and associated processes.

The position leads the planning, delivery and evaluation of high quality regulatory and compliance programs, projects and services to provide assurance to the government, industry and community stakeholders that exploration activities and regulatory arrangements/requirements covered by the Mining Act are being adhered to and are continually monitored.

Key Selection Criteria:

Demonstrates significant experience in the interpretation and application of legislation, associated policies, and procedures.

Expert understanding of the mineral resources sector, the major issues, trends and developments in the industry and the implications for the future direction.

Demonstrated experience in professional leadership, project management and impact assessment.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of people, building productive working relationships with peers, other work colleagues and stakeholders.

Qualifications:
Degree in Science, Environmental Management or Engineering related to the resources industry.

Remuneration:
PO4 salary range $110,696 to $120,470 per annum + superannuation

Full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week

Special Conditions:

Short term contract up to 18 months.

DEM encourages flexible working arrangements such as working from home, part time work, job share, compressed weeks and purchased leave. Arrangements are negotiated with the appropriate manager.

The incumbent will be required to maintain a safe working environment by adopting appropriate hazard management practices consistent with the role.

The incumbent is expected to uphold the ethical behaviour and professional integrity standards as contained in the Public Sector Act 2009, as well as comply with any other relevant legislated requirements.

Out of hours work may be required.

Intra state and interstate travel may be required.

A Driver's licence is required.

Appointment to this role may be subject to a satisfactory screening check.
