Shared Services SA is a branch within the Department of Treasury and Finance. It delivers corporate and business services to a range of SA Government agencies and improves the delivery of internal administrative services by developing simpler, faster, more robust, and efficient processes and systems.
About the opportunity:
The Team Leader Claims is accountable to the Manager, Work Injury Services with responsibility for providing leadership, advice and guidance to claims management staff and ensuring the delivery of an effective and efficient claims management service.
The role is responsible for the management of a workers' compensation high risk/complex claim portfolio for SA public sector client agencies of DTF Work Injury Services in accordance with the relevant legislation, regulations, SA Public Sector Injury Management Standards and Public Sector Performance targets. The role provides expert advisory, consultancy and training services to SA public sector client agencies, including business unit managers and supervisors, in relation to all aspects of workers' compensation claims management and administration.
About you
Work Injury Services is seeking applicants with the following attributes:
Extensive experience in managing workers compensation claims in accordance with the Return to Work Act 2014.
Strong leadership skills with an emphasis on creating and maintaining positive team dynamics and the ability to provide guidance and direction to claims management staff.
Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and provide a high level of customer service.
High level communication skills with the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with a broad range of key stakeholders.
A successful problem solver with demonstrated experience in negotiation, conflict resolution and decision-making techniques in the workers compensation environment.
