Company Background

They are seeking an experienced Accountant to be a key part of this growing organisation.
The Role
Reporting to an experienced CFO, the Billing Lead will oversee the full billing and WIP process across multiple offices, while managing a team of 3-4. You'll play a key role in the month-end cycle, ensuring timely, accurate billing and project financial support for internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
Lead the billing process across all offices, including project setup and collections
Manage your own billing portfolio to stay hands-on and lead by example
Supervise and support 3-4 staff.
Ensure accurate revenue recognition and WIP/Deferred income review each month
Provide internal guidance to Project Directors and Engineers around billing procedures
Maintain billing data integrity across internal systems
Identify and implement billing process improvements
Deliver exceptional service and support to both internal teams and external clients
Liaise across finance and operations to improve efficiency and support decision-making
Provide ad hoc reporting and assistance during month-end and audits as needed
Your Background
To be successful in this Billing Lead role, you will ideally bring:
4+ years’ experience in a similar role within a project-based or professional services environment
Prior team leadership or supervision experience
Hands-on experience with WIP and project billing cycles
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills – able to work with senior internal and external contacts
High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
A proactive mindset and the ability to drive process improvement
Intermediate Excel skills and comfort with financial systems
