The Role
Guided by Marymead CatholicCare's Mission, Values, and Operating Principles, the Sobering Up Shelter (SUS) offers a non-judgmental, responsive service for men and women aged 18 and over who are under the influence of alcohol and/or other drugs. The shelter provides a safe, clean environment for individuals to recover and operates from 11:00 PM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, as well as during other significant dates and events as required.
The Specialist Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Worker delivers professional and confidential care in accordance with the Marymead CatholicCare Behaviour and Code of Conduct Staff Handbook, as well as the relevant professional codes of ethics and conduct specific to the AOD sector.
Specialist AOD Workers are expected to engage in regular professional development and maintain compliance with the qualification standards of the AOD sector.

About You
The ideal person we are looking for has
-Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD), or a Certificate IV in a related field with successful completion of the four core competencies from the Certificate IV in AOD.
-Demonstrated understanding of the key issues impacting individuals affected by alcohol and other drug -use, including those who are intoxicated or under the influence.
-Current and valid driver's licence
-Current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration
-Willingness to undergo and pass a National Police Check
