Multicultural Hub Canberra

Multicultural Hub Canberra (mHub) is managed by Queanbeyan Multilingual Centre Inc and provides support services for migrants, refugees and asylum seekers in Canberra and the SE NSW region. These services include the Welcome 2 Canberra service, refugee settlement services, multicultural youth services, multicultural women’s services, multicultural employment service, multicultural men's service and the multicultural counselling service, as well as a number of community events and projects.

Position Overview:

Plan, implement and evaluate a regular program of activities (including school based and school holiday programs) for young people based on identified needs and interests.

Provide case management and outreach support to young people and ensure case notes are properly recorded and maintained.

To promote and advertise MYS programs and activities within the broader community.

Support the delivery of activities at Gunners Place.

Ensure all reporting meets funding body requirements (DEX database) and is completed within the required reporting period.

Other relevant duties as requested by the QMLC Director that are within the limits of the employee’s skill, competence and training.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Community Services, or the equivalent.

Demonstrated experience working with CALD young people and communities.

Experience providing case management support.

Experience developing and delivering youth programs, activities and events.

Proficient in English and/or other languages.
