About This Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lecturer, with expertise in the broad discipline area of medicines management and pharmacy practice, to join our world-class School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Help us educate future generations of pharmacists and create an exceptional student experience!

In this role, you will contribute to coordination and teaching within the medicines management and pharmacy practice stream for our B.Pharm (Hons) program. In addition, some course development work will be required, and you may also teach across other related programs and courses within the School. As a teaching and research academic, you will also have the opportunity to develop your research profile within the broader discipline area of medicines management and pharmacy practice and contribute to the supervision of students as well as service and engagement activities.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching: Develop, coordinate and deliver courses, engage in curriculum design and student assessment, provide academic counselling, and adhere to university teaching and learning practices.
  • Research: Establish an independent and/or team research program, collaborate on research projects, seek and manage research funding, publish in reputable journals and utilise best practice research methodologies.
  • Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise students, recruit and manage employees and provide performance feedback, coaching and training.
  • Citizenship and Service: Develop partnerships, engage in internal and external service roles, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values.

About You

  • A PhD in the broad area that is medicines management and pharmacy practice.
  • A growing profile in teaching and research in the area of medicines management and pharmacy practice.
  • Evidence of a high level of quality teaching, which can be at undergraduate, honours or postgraduate level and across a variety of settings, including small and large groups.
  • Contributions to the development and continuous innovation of new programs, curriculum design and course material in the area of medicines management and pharmacy practice. Experience in course coordination is desirable.
  • A developing reputation and track record of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences.
  • Evidence of successfully seeking, obtaining and managing external research funding.
  • A growing record of supervision of Honours and Research Higher Degree students.
  • Experience in meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with active contributions to external activities.
