We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Civil Estimator to join our growing team. In this role, you will assist with preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil construction projects including earthworks, subdivisions, drainage, and roadworks. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail and a desire to develop their estimating skills in a hands-on environment.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of tender submissions and cost estimates for civil works projects

Interpret project drawings, specifications, and scope of works

Perform quantity take-offs using digital tools and software

Obtain and compare subcontractor and supplier quotes

Help maintain a database of current material, plant, and labour rates

Support the preparation of project programs and tender documents

Work collaboratively with the operations and project management team to ensure accuracy and competitiveness

Attend pre-tender site visits (as required)

Assist in tracking and reporting costs, variations, and margins

🎓 Required Skills & Qualifications

Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent (or currently studying)

1–2 years' experience in a similar role (preferred, not essential)

Strong numeracy and analytical skills

Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications

High attention to detail and accuracy

Good written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency in MS Excel; experience with estimating software (e.g. CostX) an advantage

Self-motivated and eager to learn

Valid driver’s licence
