In this role, the successful applicant will implement effective management across the City's plant, fleet and equipment along with the day to day operations of the Operations Centre. They will assist the asset management and sustainability divisions of the branch. Whilst upholding and consistently demonstrating the City's values of Supportive, United, Bold and Impactful.
The key responsibilities of this role:
- Review plant and fleet requirements to assist with the development and delivery of the City’s 5 and 10 Year Capital Works Program.
- Assist with identifying and implementing best practices and innovative solutions to improve fleet operations, including alternative fuels, electrification and automation.
- Drive continuous improvement in fleet processes, ensuring suitable, safe, sustainable, and reliable assets to support strategic objectives and legislative requirements.
- Develop and implement systems and processes for effective fleet management.
- Develop, monitor and maintain the fleet and plant asset register within the City’s assets management system.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of protocols, policies and strategies in relation to the management of City assets
- Responsible for the day to day operations of the Operations Centre and workshop within your designated areas of responsibility.
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment for all related activities and areas within your designated areas of responsibility.
- Review and maintain MSDS sheets for all chemicals kept on site in collaboration with OSH Representatives.
- Assist with asset data collection, including condition assessments for all asset types as required.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Extensive knowledge of fleet and plant management.
- Knowledge of asset management
- Administrative tasks relating to position.
- Assistance with limited operator training and advice in relation to machinery use, safe operation and user maintenance.
- Highly developed computer literacy and well developed knowledge of computer applications and databases as they relate to fleet and asset management
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a small team, exercising initiative and judgement whilst working with minimal supervision
- Sound written and verbal communication skills
- Sound knowledge of work site safety requirements
- Time management
- Ensure quality control of contract works.
- Control of personnel who may wish to enter the work site.
- Compliance with occupational safety and health guidelines.
- Identification and rectification of potential hazards
- Organise work-loads to meet the operating needs of the City
- Ability to operate all City vehicles.
Salary package:
From $83,127 to $92,500 per annum, exclusive of superannuation. A 4% increase will apply from 2 July 2025.
