The Shire of Narrogin is seeking a strategic leader to guide our Infrastructure Services portfolio during an exciting phase of growth. With major investment flowing into the Narrogin Renewable energy Zone (NREZ), this is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of infrastructure, sustainability, and service delivery in the Wheatbelt.

Your responsibilities

· Lead the Shire’s Infrastructure Services portfolio.

· Lead strategic planning and delivery of infrastructure, roads, drainage, fleet, waste management, depot operations, airport, cemetery, and caravan park management, and Treated Wastewater Irrigation Systems (TWIS).

· Oversee delivery of the Shire’s capital works program and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies.

· Coach, mentor and manage staff performance, recruitment, and workforce planning.

· Attend and report to Council, Committees, and Working Groups, including Roads, WHS, and Airport Advisory.

· Champion continuous improvement, WHS, risk management and community relations.

About you

You are a confident and collaborative professional with:

· Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or relevant experience.

· Extensive experience in the delivery of infrastructure services, ideally within local government or a similar environment.

· A solid understanding of local government legislation, asset management systems (e.g., RAMM), engineering standards, procurement, and contract management.

· Demonstrated success in team leadership, community engagement, and cross-functional collaboration.

· High-level strategic, financial, and communication skills, including Council reporting, stakeholder management, and performance improvement.
