About the engagement:
Green Light is partnering up with a leading company to engage KYC Team Lead to join banking services client for a 3-month contract role based in Sydney or Melbourne. The ideal candidate will lead a team of KYC analysts responsible for onboarding, periodic reviews, and remediation work while ensuring adherence to AML/CTF regulatory obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support a team of KYC analysts in conducting Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Customer Due Diligence (ECDD) for new and existing clients.
• Ensure all KYC files meet internal quality standards and align with AML/CTF policies and procedures.
• Oversee and guide the preparation and submission of Suspicious Matter Reports (SMRs) in accordance with AUSTRAC requirements.
• Review complex client structures (e.g., trusts, companies, beneficial ownership) and validate source of wealth/funds documentation.
• Act as a point of escalation for high-risk or complex client onboarding and remediation cases.
• Monitor daily workflow, allocate tasks, and ensure the team meets SLAs and compliance deadlines.
• Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to junior team members.
• Liaise with compliance and risk teams to ensure policy updates are implemented effectively.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in KYC processes and documentation standards.

Key Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in KYC/AML, with at least 1-2 years in a team lead or supervisory role.
• Strong working knowledge of CDD, ECDD, and SMR processes in line with Australian regulatory standards.
• Experience with onboarding high-risk clients, including PEPs, trusts, and offshore entities.
• Familiarity with AUSTRAC obligations and relevant AML/CTF legislation.
• Excellent understanding of risk assessment frameworks and customer risk rating methodologies.
• Proficiency in KYC systems and tools; experience with case management platforms a plus.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• High attention to detail, critical thinking, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
