The Animal Care Facility (ACF) team are passionate about caring for all types of companion animals and proactively promote responsible pet ownership. The team assist with the caring and adoption of all animals that come into the facility. The ACF provide dedicated resources for animal welfare and rehoming and exceptional customer service to the community.

About the role:

We are currently seeking a hands-on Animal Attendant Supervisor to lead the team of Animal Attendants. We are searching for a leader who will excel in the delivery of a high standard of animal welfare and care. This leader will be able to manage a dynamic team and have the ability to lead by example in positive and proactive behaviours.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:

Demonstrated experience in a leadership role with extensive skills and knowledge in managing and developing teams.

Relevant tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate III) in animal care and management with components in animal behaviour. Working towards will be considered.

Demonstrated application of relevant legislation affecting Local Government with particular reference to the Companion Animals Act 1998.

Previous experience handling animals.

Drivers License (minimum class C).

Conflict resolution & management skills.

Ability to lead a team in a positive and collaborative manner.

Excellent organisational and time management skills.

Well-developed oral and written communication skills.

Excellent customer service skills.

Self-motivated and able to work to deadlines without close supervision.
