- Base Salary HEO 7/8 (38 hours), $117,864 p.a. - $148,781p.a. (pro-rata) + 17% superannuation to a total package of up to $174,073.

We are seeking to appoint a Registrar/Senior Registrar in Small Animal Diagnostic Imaging to join a team of outstanding world-class clinical colleagues at the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital Sydney. This role does not require previous academic experience but rather a strong clinical background and interest in supporting student development.
You will be part of a team that delivers a structured program in veterinary diagnostic imaging to Doctor of Veterinary Medicine students as well as support the clinical activity of the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital Sydney within the small animal diagnostic imaging team.
The position will help to sustain and enhance a caseload and provide services for the purpose of teaching Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and residents in the UVTH-Sydney.
The academic environment is different to commercial specialty practice with the academic mission of teaching and research being central to operations.

Your key responsibilities will be to:
- contribute to the team delivering a structured Diagnostic imaging program to Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Students including clinical support and supervising practical class activities.
- provide an effective small animal diagnostic imaging services within the veterinary teaching hospital
- take a leadership role with the training of students and supporting resident training.
- provide support for cases from other clinical services within the University Veterinary Teaching Hospitals.

About you

Registrar in in Small Animal Diagnostic Imaging (HEO Level 7) is a veterinarian working with responsibility for his/her own clinical work and outcomes; and who is involved with clinical instruction, contributes to consultancy and/or research led by senior staff and provides high quality referral clinical services. In addition, you must have:
- a degree in veterinary science registrable in New South Wales, Australia.
- advanced training in (ANZCVS Membership) in Small Animal Diagnostic Imaging.
- excellent clinical skills.
- experience in teaching and providing clinical instruction.
- an ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- the ability to show initiative and manage competing deadlines.
- excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Senior Registrar in in Small Animal Emergency & Critical Care, (HEO Level 8) is a veterinarian with responsibilities within a specific area of clinical practice, and who provides leadership in his/her chosen discipline as well as being involved in clinical training programs. In addition to the requirements for a Registrar position, you must have:
- completed a residency training program in small animal diagnostic imaging.
The commencement level will be determined based on the candidate's skills, experience and knowledge.
