About the Role

Melbourne Polytechnic is seeking a dynamic Administrative Assistant to support the effective delivery of vocational education programs. This is a great opportunity to contribute to strategic projects, drive operational improvements, and support collaborative team success in a purpose-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide proficient use of software including Outlook, MS Word, Excel, SharePoint, CELCAT, and STRATA.
  • Support academic administration including assessment procedures, flexible learning, and student administration.
  • Assist with course accreditation processes and maintain program information on staff/student portals.
  • Provide finance administration including processing invoices and purchase orders.
  • Deliver high-level customer service and enrolment support to students.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistency in administrative systems.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases in compliance with policies.
  • Support event and meeting administration for departmental activities.
Skills and Experience Required
  • Appropriate experience in administrative support roles, preferably in an education setting
  • High-level administrative and organisational skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience supporting accreditation processes in vocational education
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to confidentiality and professional integrity
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety, Anti-Discrimination, and Continuous Improvement principles
Additional Requirements

Successful candidate will be required to provide:

  • A valid Victorian Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • A National Police Check
