About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our team. This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring creativity, excellent culinary skills, and the ability to manage both kitchen operations and team development. You will work closely with the Head Chef to maintain high standards, ensuring our menu reflects a commitment to local, seasonal produce and the values of our venue.
Skills/Experience Required:
Certificate III/IV in commercial cookery and a diploma in hospitality management.
Positive skill assessment as a chef from Australia.
Minimum 3 years' experience as a Sous Chef in a similar modern Australian, high-volume restaurant
Strong leadership and kitchen management skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Full working rights in Australia
Strong organisation and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management, including menu creation, food costing, and stock control.
Develop and produce high-quality dishes that showcase local ingredients and meet the venue’s culinary vision.
Lead, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a positive work environment and encouraging professional growth.
Manage rosters, monitor and maintain wage budgets, and control food and operational costs.
Oversee and run both à la carte service and functions simultaneously, ensuring smooth kitchen operations.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain exceptional hygiene standards.
Display a strong passion for culinary excellence and a keen eye for detail in food presentation and quality.
