This is a nine-month contract offering you flexible start and finish times that supports work-life balance so you can focus on what matters most. You'll be joining a tight-knit finance team of 3 that supports a national company ensuring smooth processing of the Payroll and Accounts Payable function.
You'll be part of a company the operates with maturity, and encourages discussion of process improvements, and finding efficiencies. This role is a blend of payroll processing of 60 permanent staff and a contract workforce that fluctuates between 30-130, as well as accounts payable which total 30 per week.
This is a role that will encourage you to be autonomous but with leadership and colleagues who are available to offer support, advice, and training when needed.
As the Payroll Officer, your responsibilities will include:
Responsibilities:
Payroll (70%)
- You will be managing end-to-end payroll processing for fortnightly and monthly pay cycles across 4 entities.
- Processing payment for both permanent staff of 60 and contractor staff circa 30-130 at any one time.
- Accurately calculate employee entitlements, allowances, deductions, PAYG, and superannuation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant awards, enterprise agreements, tax, and superannuation legislation.
- Maintain accurate employee records including onboarding, terminations, and leave balances
- Generate payslips and payment files; reconcile payroll reports to the general ledger
Accounts Payable (30%)
- Manage end-to-end accounts payable processes, including data entry, matching and coding of up to 30 invoices per week.
- Perform monthly payment runs.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to manage queries.
- Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions.
About You
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience:
- Minimum of 18 months experience of end-to-end payroll or similar role.
- Working understanding of awards system.
- Experience using payroll system ideally wage easy but not essential.
- Able to critically analyse information independently
