Profusions client is seeking a Head of Data (or experienced Data Manager) to lead and scale their data capability across a growing group of niche insurance agencies. Each offering runs as its own entity with varying data sets.

The Opportunity
This is a unique opportunity to:

• Build out the internal data function from the ground up.
• Take strategic ownership of the entire data environment, which is currently fragmented and underdeveloped.
• Be the key driver in delivering MS Fabric and consolidating BI reporting across the group.
• Provide analysis to support pricing models and product decisions.
• Reduce dependency on external vendors, while still partnering with them effectively.

The Role
You’ll lead a small team (currently 3: Data Engineer, Analyst, plus vendor support) and scale it as needed. This role involves:

• Owning and delivering the future-state data strategy.
• Implementing standardised processes and modern platforms.
• Partnering across functions, including the Head of Projects and BAs, to consolidate data onto a single platform.
• Working in a startup-like environment with high autonomy and a strong appetite for smart solutions.

What You Bring

• Proven experience as a Head of Data, Data Manager, or Lead Data Analyst/Engineer.
• Strong understanding of Power BI, data architecture, and Microsoft Fabric.
• Ideally experience in insurance or another highly regulated environment.
• Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to delivery.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and make sense of legacy/acquisition data environments.
