  • support the early childhood education and care sector to improve quality outcomes for children

The Role

The Manager Human Resources Development leads a small team (2-3 direct reports) of human resources professionals responsible for providing human resources advice and services in learning and development, performance, employee wellbeing, organisational development, HR policies, and employee relations.

This role reports to the Senior Manager People & Workplace and works closely with the Manager Human Resources Operations to ensure the efficient, compliant, and effective execution of HR practices in alignment with relevant legislation, the ACECQA Enterprise Agreement and best practice standards.

This role is full time and ongoing at ACECQA Band 6/7 ($118,578 - $156,463).

About You

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in human resource management and/or business partnering with a strong track record across learning and development, performance frameworks, wellbeing, and organisational development.
  • Demonstrated expertise in employee and industrial relations, including case management, enterprise agreement interpretation, performance management, grievances and dispute resolution.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement HR policies and ensure compliance with employment legislation and regulatory frameworks.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including skills in building relationships, providing advice and supporting senior leaders with strategic and operational matters.
  • Highly developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills, demonstrating the ability to manage complex and sensitive people-related issues, lead projects and evaluate impacts.

While not essential, the following attributes will greatly assist you in the role:

  • Knowledge and understanding of trends, issues and requirements for managing people in public sector organisations.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a relevant discipline.
