About the role
The Mater Mothers’ Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Neonatal Complex Care Coordinator to join their Neonatal Critical Care Unit. This is a permanent, full-time position, based at our South Brisbane Campus.
Reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Clinical Services, the Neonatal Clinical Care Coordinator provides expert clinical consultancy and plays a critical role in coordinating healthcare services for complex neonatal patients. By fostering partnerships, identifying system improvements, and enhancing consumer outcomes, the coordinator ensures individualised care and facilitates optimal care at the right time in the most suitable environment. Acting as a liaison between patients, families, and care teams, they improve communication, coordination, and continuity of care, leading to better patient outcomes.
Salary range: $66.85 – $72.58 (RN3) per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
- Coordinate the complexities of the healthcare system where multiple specialities or services are involved to ensure consumer focused care
- Creation of partnerships through collaboration, networking and effective communication with key stakeholders
- Identify gaps in health service delivery and facilitate system improvements to enhance consumer outcomes in the neonatal population.
- Guide the consumer through the complexities of the healthcare system by reducing fragmentation, addressing barriers, educating, empowering, and coordinating personalised care
- Support patients and families across the Mater NCCU who require ongoing care and treatment through either Queensland Children's Hospital (QCH) or local hospital services
About you
To be successful in this position, you will have extensive experience in coordinating complex healthcare services, liaising between patients, families, and care teams; and partnering closely with families to ensure the highest quality of patient care.
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Neonatal qualification (graduate certificate or higher)
- Minimum of five years’ experience in specific clinical specialty including experience as a Clinical Nurse or other leadership role
Desired:
- High-level interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills with the ability to engage with internal stakeholders at various levels to achieve
- Experience in clinical leadership
- Master’s qualification or working towards
