Position Remuneration: LGEA Level 5 + Construction Workers Allowance (CWA) ($66,514 Base annual salary which is inclusive of CWA) / ($75,498 Total remuneration package which is based on permanent full-time employee and inclusive of 12% employer superannuation and 17.5% leave loading).

About You
You are someone who truly understands the unique ecology of the Noosa region, and you are passionate about protecting it. You recognise the key threats to our natural areas and bring proven experience in managing and mitigating these risks to preserve their ecological value for future generations.
You are also well-versed in, or quick to learn, the relevant legislation, Council policies, and operational plans that guide natural area management. With your strong environmental insight and proactive approach, you are ready to make a meaningful impact in one of the most beautiful regions in Queensland.
The position's focus will be:
Conduct ecological restoration activities across Council’s bushland reserve network using various restoration approaches, techniques, and equipment.
Undertake routine natural resource management activities associated with operational management of bushland reserve and trail networks, this includes maintenance and construction operations associated with infrastructure.
Conduct pre-start and pre-operation checks when operating small plant, vehicles & weed control equipment.
Respond to requests and other enquiries from the public and action where appropriate. Liaise with members of the public about customer requests related to natural areas.
Identify potential hazards in Council-managed bushland reserves and trails and report for rectification.
Create and maintain chemical distribution records as per the Agricultural Chemical Distribution Control Act 1966
Undertake ecological and asset inspections of Council managed reserves. Manage the update of information for reporting purposes.
Record, map, monitor management activities within Bushland Reserves, utilizing established systems including GIS, Tech one and MS office-based packages.
Maintain and clean tools, plant and equipment used by the Natural Areas team and volunteers.
Purchase approved materials and equipment required to support daily operation.
Participate in public relations matters relating to ecological restoration and bushland reserve management.
Participate, as required, in the after-hours duty roster and provide assistance during emergencies such as floods, bushfires, etc.
Exercise initiative and a degree of autonomy in making decisions, solving problems and resolving conflicts.
Such other relevant duties as required from time to time which would generally fall within the scope of this position.
