The Opportunity

Exciting opportunity to join the Melbourne office of a leading, global manufacturing company based in Clayton. The Financial Accountant will be 2IC to the Finance Manager, sitting under the Financial Controller of APAC. The role primarily consists of financial reporting, accounting and tax preparation with a main focus on statutory returns and month-end closing.

This highly profitable business is growing globally and as such, you will have the opportunity to continuously upskill and take on more as your skills and knowledge progress.

The Challenge

Reporting into the Finance Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

• Managing month-end closing processes including month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliation
• Assisting with the monthly/annual/periodic financial reporting and tax reporting requirements
• Assisting with annual audit preparation
• Assisting with the preparation of annual statutory accounts and annual income tax return
• Preparation of BAS, GST and payroll tax
• Liaising with overseas business service support teams on AP, AR and general ledger reconciliations
• Assist Finance Manager with ad hoc projects and tasks

The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

• CA/CPA qualified or near completion
• Bachelor’s degree in business or commerce with a major in accounting/finance
• 3-5 years' experience within large corporate environment in an accounting role
• Great attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal
