About the Role
This is a key role responsible for maintaining the electrical and mechanical integrity of production equipment to ensure maximum uptime, safety, and efficiency. Reporting to the Site Reliability Manager, the Maintenance Fitter / Electrician will perform a mix of preventative and reactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment optimization across a busy manufacturing site.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and emergency breakdown repairs
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults to minimize disruptions
• Assist with installation, commissioning, and upgrades of machinery
• Carry out inspections and proactively identify improvement opportunities
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to meet operational targets
• Comply with all WHS procedures and company policies
• Support ongoing reliability and continuous improvement initiatives

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment
• Solid mechanical trade background – fitting or electrical qualifications
• Strong knowledge of industrial production equipment, including PLCs and automation
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and reading technical drawings
• Resilience and adaptability in fast-paced and evolving operational environments
• Preventative maintenance systems experience is highly regarded

Desirable (Not Essential)

• Basic electrical knowledge (if mechanically qualified)
• Welding and fabrication capability
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement practices
