We are seeking a contract Systems Accountant / Senior Accountant to join a growing and dynamic business environment undergoing a finance transformation following the implementation of Pronto.

This is a hands-on, hybrid finance/systems role supporting BAU accounting as well as key finance change initiatives. You'll work closely with the finance team and leadership to ensure the new system operates effectively while maintaining financial integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

This role will be a mix of core financial duties and project-based system transition support, including:

• Month-end journals and reporting
• Clean-up and rationalisation of the Fixed Asset Register (disposals, consolidations)
• Calculation and review of costing rates (labour, materials, equipment)
• Uploading historical data into the new general ledger
• Reviewing, configuring, and testing financial reports in Pronto to ensure data accuracy and usability
• Verifying correct general ledger mappings in the new system
• Journal creation and legacy data entry during transition phase
• Supporting system go-live, post-implementation clean-up, and reporting structure design
• Ad-hoc financial analysis and support as required

Ideal Candidate:

• CA/CPA qualified or equivalent experience
• Previous experience in a systems accountant or senior accounting role within a project costing, construction, or industrial environment
• Able to work autonomously and collaboratively within a transitioning finance function
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and not afraid to roll up your sleeves to get things done

Contract Details:

• Location: Essendon
• Tenure: Initially 6 months, with potential to extend depending on the progress of the implementation
• Start: ASAP
