About the role

The Specialist Breast Clinic is seeking an experienced and dedicated Medical Receptionist to join our team on a casual basis in Wollongong, NSW. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative environment, providing essential administrative support to our medical professionals and ensuring the smooth running of our clinic.

What you'll be doing

• Greeting and welcoming patients in a friendly and professional manner
• Scheduling and managing patient appointments, including booking, rescheduling and cancellations
• Handling patient inquiries and providing information about the clinic's services
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records and medical histories
• Assisting with the preparation of patient files and medical documentation
• Performing general administrative duties, such as answering phones, processing payments and managing inventory
• Ensuring the reception area and waiting room are well-organised and maintained

What we're looking for

• Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar customer service role within the healthcare industry
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with patients, clinicians and other staff members effectively
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks
• Proficiency in using medical practice management software and other office equipment
• A friendly, professional and empathetic demeanour, with a commitment to providing excellent patient care
• Familiarity with medical terminology and an understanding of healthcare processes and procedures
