At EDMS Australia, we’re known for delivering high-quality, end-to-end engineering, fabrication, and site construction services across North Queensland and beyond. We are currently seeking a Business Development Manager to join our Townsville team and help drive strategic growth across our key sectors, including Sugar, Agriculture, Defence, Marine, Tourism, and Renewable Energy.

This is more than a sales role – it’s a dynamic opportunity to play a vital leadership role in identifying new business opportunities, strengthening client relationships, and contributing directly to our long-term success.

The Business Development Manager at EDMS Australia plays a pivotal role in driving the growth and expansion of our business. This position requires an individual who is not only passionate about building relationships but also possesses a strategic mindset to identify and seize new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across key sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Support the development and submission of compelling tenders and proposals.
  • Represent EDMS at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Engineering, Estimating, Fabrication, Construction) to align client expectations with EDMS capabilities.
  • Provide strategic input into commercial planning and forecasting.
  • Entertain clients and manage key stakeholder engagement at social and sporting events, including EDMS’ corporate hospitality functions.

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or client-facing roles within engineering, construction, or industrial sectors.
  • Strong acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to prepare and manage tender submissions and project proposals.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage long-term relationships and complex sales cycles.
  • Knowledge of regional industries, such as Sugar, Defence, or Renewable Energy is highly regarded.

Qualifications:

  • A degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, Engineering or a related field.
  • Trade or Project Management background advantageous.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
