The Opportunity

You’ll join a key federal agency dedicated to promoting knowledge and culture. In this role as Finance Officer, you’ll support the delivery of core financial functions.

This is an initial three-month contract with the possibility of extension based on performance.

It’s a great opportunity to start or continue building your finance career in the APS, gain hands-on experience with financial processes, and contribute to a high-impact organisation.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:

• Processing accounts payable transactions in a timely and accurate manner
• Supporting accounts receivable duties
• Ensuring payment deadlines are met in line with agency requirements
• Supporting compliance with internal financial controls and legislation
• Assisting with external financial reporting obligations
• Answering queries from internal and external stakeholders
• Identifying upcoming issues and escalating them to management promptly

The Ideal Person

You are an experienced Finance Officer, Bookkeeper or Assistant Accountant with a strong background in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial processes.

With good communication and problem-solving skills, you thrive in a collaborative environment.

Prior experience in TechOne is highly regarded.

This APS role requires Australian citizenship but does not require a security clearance.

Salary / Rate

• $48/hr- $55/hr + Super
• WFH flexibility
