The Anglican Church Grammar School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Senior School Teacher (Humanities, with English as a second subject area highly regarded), to join our dynamic team in East Brisbane. As a member of the Humanities department, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality education to secondary students. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons in Humanities subjects to students at the senior school level.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Conduct assessments and provide constructive feedback to students to support their academic progress and personal development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to curriculum development and enhancement of teaching resources within the Humanities department.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings, school events, and extracurricular activities as required.
Main Tasks:
- Deliver well-structured lessons that inspire and motivate students, utilising innovative teaching methods where appropriate.
- Create a positive classroom atmosphere conducive to learning and personal growth for all students.
- Evaluate student performance through ongoing assessment, maintaining accurate records of their progress and achievements.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance subject knowledge, pedagogical skills, and stay abreast of educational best practices.

The successful candidate will be able to:
- Demonstrate appropriate tertiary qualifications in Secondary Education with classroom experience
- Ability to lead effective curriculum and pedagogical development specific to boys’ education and in keeping with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability at employing strategies that engage Years 7 - 12 students
- Ability to work effectively within a team and build cooperative relationships with staff and parents
- Willingness to support the spiritual, community and cocurricular life of the School
- Current working rights for Australia
- Applicants must hold (or be eligible to obtain) registration with the Queensland College of Teachers

There are approximately 530 boys in the Preparatory School and 1250 in Senior School. Boarding is an important part of the School's life and over 170 boys from Years 7 to 12 are accommodated at Churchie.
