The Anglican Church Grammar School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Senior School Teacher (Humanities, with English as a second subject area highly regarded), to join our dynamic team in East Brisbane. As a member of the Humanities department, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality education to secondary students. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons in Humanities subjects to students at the senior school level.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, fostering a supportive learning environment.
  • Conduct assessments and provide constructive feedback to students to support their academic progress and personal development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to curriculum development and enhancement of teaching resources within the Humanities department.
  • Participate in parent-teacher meetings, school events, and extracurricular activities as required.

Main Tasks:

  • Deliver well-structured lessons that inspire and motivate students, utilising innovative teaching methods where appropriate.
  • Create a positive classroom atmosphere conducive to learning and personal growth for all students.
  • Evaluate student performance through ongoing assessment, maintaining accurate records of their progress and achievements.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance subject knowledge, pedagogical skills, and stay abreast of educational best practices.

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Demonstrate appropriate tertiary qualifications in Secondary Education with classroom experience
  • Ability to lead effective curriculum and pedagogical development specific to boys’ education and in keeping with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability at employing strategies that engage Years 7 - 12 students
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and build cooperative relationships with staff and parents
  • Willingness to support the spiritual, community and cocurricular life of the School
  • Current working rights for Australia
  • Applicants must hold (or be eligible to obtain) registration with the Queensland College of Teachers
