As a Senior School Teacher (Furnishing & Design) at Anglican Church Grammar School, you will be an integral part of the Design, Engineering and Technology team. This permanent full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to an enthusiastic professional educator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging curriculum content for Furnishing & Design subjects in line with departmental guidelines.
  • Provide high-quality instruction, guidance, and support to students in the Senior School.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and promotes academic growth.
  • Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback for improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and contribute to the overall development of the department.

Main Tasks:

  • Plan and implement effective lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Utilise innovative teaching methods to stimulate student interest and foster critical thinking skills within the subject area.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and other relevant data for reporting purposes.
  • Participate in professional development activities to stay abreast of current trends and best practices in Furnishing & Design education.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and other stakeholders regarding student progress, achievements, and any concerns.

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Demonstrate appropriate tertiary qualifications in Secondary Education with classroom experience
  • Ability to lead effective curriculum and pedagogical development specific to boys’ education and in keeping with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability at employing strategies that engage Years 7 - 12 students
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and build cooperative relationships with staff and parents
  • Willingness to support the spiritual, community and cocurricular life of the School
  • Current working rights for Australia
  • Applicants must hold (or be eligible to obtain) registration with the Queensland College of Teachers
