The Chamber of Fruit & Vegetable Industries in WA (Inc) is a long-established (70+ years), association situated at the Perth Markets in Canning Vale. Trading as Market West & Market West Credit Service, our organisation represents the 25 primary fresh produce wholesalers (Market Agents) who operate from the central trading area of the markets.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Credit Officer to join our team. This full-time position will be based in our Canning Vale office. As the Credit Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the daily, weekly & monthly financial operations and member services of our organisation. The markets are an early start, early finish location. For this role, our office opens at 7am-3pm Mon, Tues, Friday and 6am-2pm Wed-Thur.

What you'll be doing - key responsibilities include:

Reporting to the Finance Manager and assist in the overall management of the credit service and the broader financial operations

Review, download and reconcile buyer receipts with the bank statements

Compile weekly member distribution payments and summaries, uploading the distributions and documentation to be sent to members utilising existing, unique software

Weekly management of buyer payments (Approx 350 per week), monitor credit status, suspend/stop lists and compliance with existing policies and procedures

Review, analysis & recommendation of approved buyer credit applications including security bonds

Monthly invoicing of Member and industry services including LPG refuelling, mobile phone plans, debtor follow up

Establish & maintain Member, buyer and stakeholder relationships, including online, phone and counter enquiries

Provide support to the Finance Manager and other team members as required

What we're looking for

Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar finance role

Exposure to the fresh produce wholesale and/or retail environment would be highly regarded

Strong proficiency in accounting software, spreadsheets, Excel, Word etc.

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
