About Us:
Doncaster Bistro offers a diverse dining experience featuring Australian and Asian fusion cuisine in a spacious and welcoming setting. Open daily for lunch (12:00 PM – 2:00 PM) and dinner (6:00 PM – 9:00 PM), we pride ourselves on delivering delicious food and friendly, accommodating service that keeps locals and visitors coming back.

Position: Chef (Full-time)
Salary: AUD 75,000 – 80,000 per annum (plus superannuation)

Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and cook a variety of Australian and Asian fusion dishes, ensuring all meals meet high standards of taste, texture, portion size, and presentation.

Follow recipes and food preparation checklists rigorously to maintain consistency and efficiency.

Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, maintaining a clean, organized, and hygienic workspace.

Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and workplace health & safety regulations.

Manage inventory by receiving deliveries, ordering supplies, and implementing FIFO stock rotation to control costs and reduce waste.

Assist in menu development and creation of daily specials, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer feedback.

Collaborate closely with front-of-house and kitchen teams to ensure smooth service during peak periods.

Supervise and train junior chefs and apprentices to improve team skills and maintain consistent food quality.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a chef in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preferably with exposure to Australian and Asian fusion cuisine.

Strong knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices.

Ability to work collaboratively within a multicultural team.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Passion for delivering high-quality food and exceptional customer service.
