The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Behaviour Change Facilitator to join our Connect and Respect Men’s Behaviour Change Program.
In this role you will be part of a passionate and dedicated team delivering a specifically designed program to men who choose to use violence and abuse in their relationships with their partner(s) or family members. The program is delivered in a secure and supportive therapeutic setting and provides educational group work, informal counselling, individual case management and advocacy.
In this role your key responsibilities will include:
Facilitation of group work for men who choose to use violence in intimate relationships and provide support to work towards positive change.
Contributing to risk assessments, safety planning, case management, case note and report writing.
Conducting specialised intake assessments of potential clients.
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
Managing crisis and emotional distress of clients
This position will be offered on a permanent full time basis working 76 hours a fortnight. Due to the nature of the position and industry, early evening work will be required twice a week.

Selection Criteria
Tertiary qualification in a human services field, and/or significant experience in a similar field.
Intermediate facilitation skills.
Ability to respond to challenging behaviours and have an understanding of the origins of these behaviours when working with clients.
Cultural competency to engage effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, culturally and linguistically diverse populations, and people with disabilities.
Advanced communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
Unrestricted driver's licence, Police clearance, Working With Children Check, and Department of Justice integrity clearance.
