About the role

Alba Edible Oils Pty Ltd, a leading manufacturer of high-quality edible oils, is seeking an experienced Engineer with a background in edible oil processing to join our team in Hamilton Hill, Western Australia. This full-time position is a unique opportunity to apply your technical expertise and contribute to the ongoing success of our growing company.

What you'll be doing

Ensuring safe and efficient plant operations through active field involvement, risk assessment development, and conducting field training sessions.

Maintaining strict quality control to ensure consistency in refined, bleached, and deodorized edible oils and tallow.

Monitoring plant operations continuously, responding to critical parameter deviations, optimizing short-interval control processes, troubleshooting issues, and maximizing throughput.

Managing the pre-treatment and storage processes for Used Cooking Oil, ensuring compliance with quality and operational standards

Monitoring the operation and maintenance of equipment to achieve maximum efficiency under safe operating conditions

Ensuring correct materials and equipment are used and that they conform to specifications

Diagnosing malfunctions in the edible oil refinery plant and instituting remedial action

Back-up and support the Production Manager for all refinery matters, within scope of the role

Maintain accurate and tidy data file records and general administration duties

Assisting warehouse when required

What we're looking for

Degree in Chemical Engineering with a background in Edible Oil

Demonstrated experience in an edible oil processing or similar manufacturing environment for a minimum of 3 years

Hands-on expertise in optimising chemical processes and developing innovative solutions

Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams

Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
