Role Overview:

support in the design, development, implementation, and operation of long-distance pipeline systems

As a Pipeline Engineer, you will play a critical role both supporting and leading the design, execution
and operational optimisation of concentrate, tailings, and water pipeline projects, ensuring safe, reliable,
and cost-effective performance across all life-cycle stages. You will be actively involved in all areas of
client interface and engagement by representing a go-to technical authority for key internal and external
stakeholders.
Your Tasks/Responsibilities:
Inform pipeline system material and equipment selection processes.
Conduct technical analyses, including hydraulic modelling of steady state and transient pressures and pipeline stress assessment.
Capital and operating cost estimating and project benchmarking comparisons.
Pipeline route assessment, selection, and constraints analysis activities.
Develop PFDs, P&IDs, system layout drawings, specifications, and datasheets.
Domestic and overseas mine site visitation for the provision of field engineering support and review of existing pipeline assets (as/if necessary).
Contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality project presentations, reports, and/or technical documentation for client use.
Serve as a main point of liaison for clients, vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Ensure daily workloads are planned effectively, actively managing expectations and providing results in accordance with project deadlines.
Attend relevant industry technical conferences and pursue continuous technical improvements (as/if applicable).
Establish and maintain good working relationships with all internal and external personnel and stakeholders.
Your Experience/Knowledge:
8+ years professional experience within the mining, heavy industry, energy, and/or water sectors, with a background in slurry pipelines (concentrate, tailings, and/or long-distance water) preferred but not essential.
Demonstrated success delivering concept, design, construction, and operational project phases.
Proficiency with hydraulic modelling software, including advanced Excel, VBA and/or Python analysis.
In-depth knowledge of industry-relevant design codes, i.e., ASME B31.4/B31.11, Australian Standards (AS 2885, AS 4799) or ISO/API equivalents.
Experience with FMECA, HAZOP/CHAZOP or comparable risk-based analysis methodologies.
Exposure to mine site conditions, including a proven understanding of plant commissioning and troubleshooting processes and procedures.
Demonstrated stakeholder engagement and project management ability.
Strong technical-writing skills (reports, technical memoranda, scope of work development, etc.), excellent attention to detail and quality-control standards.
Proficient in the use of computer software, including (but not limited to) Microsoft Office Suite.
University (Bachelor’s) degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or Mining Engineering (Master’s degree advantageous).
Perth-based with Australian Citizenship or a valid visa with permission to work.
Language skills: English - fluent.
