HarperLloyd Recruitment is working with a highly regarded national law firm to find a Junior Legal Assistant to join their busy and collaborative Insurance team based in Melbourne. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 1–2 years of legal admin or secretarial experience who’s ready to take the next step and build a long-term career in legal support.

The role:

You’ll be supporting a high-performing Insurance team, working closely with a Senior Legal Secretary who will provide guidance, mentorship and training. This is a broad role where you’ll be exposed to a variety of tasks and gradually build your capabilities.

Key duties include:

• Opening and maintaining client files
• Preparing documents, letters, and basic correspondence
• Managing emails, scanning, filing, and document collation
• Assisting with billing and timesheet entry
• Liaising with clients and internal staff on day-to-day matters
• General administrative support for the legal team

What we’re looking for:

• 6–24 months of experience in legal administration, reception or assistant work
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and legal document systems
• Willingness to learn, take direction, and work as part of a team
• A professional, friendly, and enthusiastic approach
